Assignment Task

This is a group pitch presentation.  This assignment is designed to assess learning outcomes 3 and 4 of the overall module. 

Task 

In a group of 6, develop a 6-minute pitch to be delivered in person to a panel of assessors. This pitching task requires you to present a business or project idea. The pitch should address three main criteria: 

1. Identification of a significant problem or unmet need with positive social change potential: You need to identify and define a social or environmental problem and analyze its root causes and potential impact. 

2. A unique idea for a product or service with the potential to address a significant problem or unmet need: You should present an innovative product or service idea that directly targets the identified problem. You need to analyze the features, benefits, impact, and scalability of their idea and identify potential challenges, drawbacks, and unintended consequences. 

3. Determine the value of the product or service idea about social, environmental,  and economic impacts: You should consider the idea's social, environmental, and economic outcomes. 

The pitch will be limited to 6 minutes and should include a clear, concise, and engaging delivery with supporting visuals. You should address all three criteria and conclude by emphasizing the product's or service's overall positive impact on society and the environment. 

Presentation Skills: 

• You should deliver a concise, compelling, and well-structured pitch within the 6-minute time limit, that effectively communicates your ideas, enthusiasm, and confidence. 
• You should also be prepared to take questions on your pitch and idea.  
• Not every member of your group is required to present but all group members must attend and be prepared to take questions. Group members who do not attend on the presentation day will be marked as absent.
