STCW1 (2301) International Leadership and Change Strategy

2301 Assignment Task:

Compose a 2,000-word reflective portfolio that delves into your comprehension of international leadership and  change theories and its influence on your personal growth. You will focus on the role of international  leadership and change theory in organisations and evaluate your own personal leadership profile and plan a  feasible future personal development plan.  

Task Guidance: 

1. Introduction: Start by writing a brief but thorough introduction that explains the purpose of the  portfolio. 

2. Evaluation of International Leadership and Change Theories (LO1): Evaluate the different leadership  and change theories from around the world. Compare and contrast the key strengths and limitations of  these theories.
  
3. Personal Leadership Profile and Future Development Plan (LO2): Critique your own leadership style.  Incorporate your strengths and any areas for improvement. Propose a feasible plan for personal  development focusing on leadership development. 

Marking Criteria:

Introduction: 

  • Clarity: Is the introduction clear and concise? Does it effectively set the context for the  portfolio?
  • Relevance: Does the introduction accurately reflect the content of the portfolio? 

Evaluation of International Leadership and Change Theories (LO1): 

  • Depth of Evaluation: Does the student provide a thorough and detailed evaluation of  international leadership and change theories?
  • Understanding: Does the student demonstrate a clear understanding of the theories  discussed?
  • Critical Thinking: Does the student critically analyse the theories, discussing their strengths,  weaknesses? 

Reflection on Personal Leadership Profile and Future Development Plan (LO2):

  • Insightfulness: Does the student provide thoughtful and insightful reflections on their personal  leadership profile?  
  • Realism: Is the future development plan realistic and achievable, based on the student’s  reflections?
  • Understanding: Does the student demonstrate a clear understanding of their personal  leadership style and areas for improvement and their applications? 

Overall Presentation, Structure, and Academic Standards: 

  • Quality of Writing: Is the writing clear, concise, and grammatically correct?
  • Structure: Is the portfolio well-organized, with a logical flow of ideas?
  • Adherence to Academic Standards: Does the student follow academic standards for writing and  referencing? 

Referencing:

  • Quantity: Are at least 20 relevant references from different sources included?
  • Accuracy: Are all references accurately cited in the text and listed in the reference list?  ✓ Currency: Are the references current and up-to-date?
  • Presentation: Are the references presented in the correct format?
  • Quality: Are the references from reputable and reliable sources?
