During the last decade, global Human Resources have been challenged by significant world events and therefore, HR professionals worldwide have required significant adaption and modification. You must select a large global organisation in any country of your choice. Once selected, highlight one specific challenge faced by the country the firm operates in and secondly, identify a challenge that the company of your choice faces operationally by the firm’s ability to operate in that business setting. You are required to identify and explain the situations/challenges highlighted and how they have impacted your selected organisation both in terms of its location globally and its operational activities. You are then required to provide recommendations as to viable options for success in both key areas outlined.

The global business environment has been faced with several key challenges during the last decade so understanding how companies have responded to these challenges is important for the business case. 

Task

  • Identify two key significant challenges/situations, the first being a key challenge the county your chosen company operates in and the second is one that the company of your choice has faced in the last decade (10-year period).  You may select historical scenarios using current models, academic resources and changing world HR practices to further identify and explain your thinking and solutions. 

  • Using theoretical academic HR models alongside Human Resource industry recommendations and key changes in HR operating practices, deconstruct the challenge/situation breaking down the key areas using a flow chart, identifying key reasons as to the impact of the challenge both to the county your chosen country operates in and secondly, a challenge the organisation is faced with Using models, academic resource and textbook content, suggest possible solutions from an HR perspective and making recommendations as to viable options for success, what some of the barriers to change may be, what would some of the barriers be. The use of management frameworks for example SWOT and PESTLE would be a critical evaluation tool in the initial stages of research and report writing.

  • The task is broken down into the following individual parts to support the writing of this report. Please note that when researching this report topic, you are required to identify two areas of challenge, the first is a challenge faced by the county the company operates in and the second is one related to the operating ability of the company.
