ASSIGNMENT TASK

  • As a Business Enterprise Manager, you have been tasked to research and implement a digital innovation. You are required to undertake a Situational Analysis and propose a digital Innovation which will drive business growth and optimise company finances. You must include justification for your ideas including a summary of the associated risks, benefits and projected costs.
  • As part of the selection process, you will need to present your idea as an infographic. Therefore, it will need to be creative, informative and persuasive. It will also need to be informed by supporting wider reading.
  • Below are the marking criteria that align with both the task(s) set and the quality of your poster/infographic. Clear weightings/marks will be noted for each criterion.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

TASK GUIDANCE:

Your infographic should be presented using the following outline:

Situational Analysis:

  • Provide an overview of the chosen company’s current products, marketing strategy and distribution channels.  
  • Present a Digital SWOT Analysis to identify the company’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
  • Identify and explain the current external challenges faced by the company using PESTLE Analysis. 

Digital Innovation: 

Describe the main features of a potential digital innovation such as artificial intelligence, alternative realities, metaverse, robotics, chatbots, blockchains and the Internet of Things (IoT) etc. 

Apply the Ansoff Matrix to discuss how each potential digital innovation could contribute to business growth in one of the following areas:

  • Market Penetration
  • Product Development
  • Market Development
  • Diversification

Describe how your proposed digital innovation will address the company’s weaknesses and/or take advantage of its strengths to support business growth, making clear links to the Situational Analysis.

Justification

Use the Ansoff matrix to identify the associated risks of your proposed digital innovation and business growth strategy for the chosen company.
Explain the overall benefits for the company in the short and long-term of implementing the proposed digital innovation
Summarise the estimated projected costs, potential revenue streams and cost savings per year of the proposed digital innovation. This should be presented as either a chart or in a financial table.
