TM354 Module Examination Parts:

This examination is in TWO parts and you should attempt as many questions as you can in BOTH parts. 

PART 1 

This part contains ten short questions. You should attempt ALL the questions in Part 1. The total score for Part 1 is 50 marks. 

PART 2 

This part consists of two longer questions. You should attempt BOTH the questions in Part 2. 

The total score for Part 2 is 50 marks. You have 4 hours for this online exam; we strongly suggest you submit what you have achieved after 3 hours even if you still intend to work further on your answers; you can then submit again before the end of the 4 hours slot. Please allow enough time for any problems with the submission. 

Note: where you are asked to draw a diagram or part of it, use whatever suits you best and is less time consuming; you can use a tool, or hand draw and scan or photograph your drawing. Note: Where you are asked to explain, discuss, or justify, use the number of marks to guide how much you write, be aware that one or two sentences should be enough to earn each mark.

PART 1:

TM354 PART 2

This question concerns the development of a small software system. Figure 1 below outlines the problem domain. This description is not complete, but contains all the information needed to answer the questions that follow.

Scenario 

(a) Draw an activity diagram for the process followed by a resident who wants to borrow a tool by visiting the tool bank, assuming it is available for loan. Assume the mechanism for identifying a member of the tool bank has already been dealt with. (7 marks)

(b) Draw a use case diagram which includes all the use cases for the two main actors that are described in Figure 1. 

(c) Give one example of a functional requirement for the Notlaw Tool Bank software system, together with a potential non-functional requirement that could apply to the functional requirement. State what category your non- functional requirement belongs to. (2 marks)

(d) What would be a fit criterion for the functional requirement you gave in (c) above? (1 mark) (e) Table 1 below is an incomplete textual description of the Reserve Tool use case. Complete the main success scenario where indicated. Assume the member has already used the tool bank software and discovers that a tool is not available for loan and needs to be reserved.
