ASSIGNMENT TASK:

●    The assignment for this module is a reflective log on your personal development during the theory and practical seminars. You will be analysing contemporary leadership theories, appraising emotional and cultural intelligence, and reflecting and evaluating your leadership style through a practical approach.  
●    The reflective log should also include a personal statement of your future development needs in relation to management, leadership, and teamworking.  

MARKING CRITERIA:
Marks are based on the weighing below and the level 7 grading criteria.

●    Part 1 – 35%
●    Part 2- 20%
●    Part 3- 30%

TASK AND DOCUMENT FORMAT GUIDANCE:

Introduction

An overview about managing across cultures: (approximately 400 words counts)
●    You must define some of the key terms and concepts you have used from the course’s lectures. The ‘Key Terms & Concepts’ list is provided below as an optional resource. 
●    Link these terminologies to the course’s overview and content.
●    Justify the increasing need for the awareness of managing across cultures.

Part 1- Context (Learning Objectives 1 & 3)

Analyse the impact of contemporary leadership styles within culturally diverse settings.  (approximately 1100 words)
●    Explore the pros and cons of 4 selected leadership styles in culturally diverse settings.
●    Evaluate the importance of having emotional intelligence when managing in culturally diverse settings.
●    Reflect on the significance of various effective leadership styles in your professional practice. 

Part 2 – Challenge (Learning Objective 2)

Discuss 2 seminar activities, that addressed any of these main topics: Diversity & Inclusion; Emotional intelligence; Motivation theories; Conflict management (approximately 600 words)
●    Explain the main activities within each seminar session and link its content to a theory highlighted in the course’s lectures.
●    Reflect on its relevance to your professional practice as a manager, within culturally diverse settings.

Part 3 – Reflection (Learning Objective 4)

Critically evaluate your Myers Briggs assessment results. (approximately 900 words)
●    Reflect on the impact that these results may have on your leadership styles, in a culturally diverse setting.
●    Create a personal development plan that incorporates your personal SWOT analysis, for developing your leadership skills.
●    Make recommendations on how you could transform your weaknesses and threats, into becoming an effective manager in culturally diverse settings.
