For the purpose of this assignment, you are required to select ONE of the following topics:

1. Impostor Syndrome Placebo effects
2. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Behaviour change interventions
3. Mental Health & Wellbeing in university Body Image
4. Social media & mental health Compassion Focused Therapy

Having made your selection, you are then required to identify two recent research papers that have examined this topic. These published papers should have used different methods (e.g. experimental, surveys, focus groups) to examine the issue. One has to be Quantitative and one other(say a systematic review) etc.

REPORT INSTRUCTIONS (10%)

This part of the assignment accounts for 10% of the final mark in this module.

The report should be approximately 1,500 words in length. [Hard limit]

In the report, you must answer the following 5 questions.

Q1: Using APA 7th format, provide a reference listing for the three papers. (9 marks)

Q2: For each of the the two  papers, identify the specific research question(s) addressed by the author(s) and provide a brief account of the research method employed. (21 marks)

Q3: For each research paper, identify the limitations to the study, as identified by the study authors. (21 marks)

Q4: Critically analyse the selection of methodologies you have identified. Identify one strength and one limitation of each of the research methodologies used, supporting your answer with reference to lecture notes and relevant readings. (30 marks)

Q5: Propose, with explicit reasons, a study methodology that you would use to improve upon any one of the studies you have reviewed. (19 marks)

The assignment must be typed using 1.5 spacing with font size 12 Times New Roman.

An MS Word document containing the assignment and the anti-plagiarism declaration form must be submitted via Loop on or before 5pm Thursday 9th October. PDF files are  NOT  acceptable.  The file  name  should  follow  the format: lastname_firstname_PSY1055_Report1.
You are NOT required to submit a hardcopy of this assignment.
