Assessment Details

Assessment Purpose

The purpose of this assessment is to analyse a real-life project, either completed (within the last five years) or ongoing to evaluate and discuss its business case, project charter, and stakeholder register. 

Students are also required to develop a suitable strategic alignment tool (Balance scorecard) for the chosen project and to provide recommendations based on BSC analysis. 

This assessment requires students to work in a group (recommended 3 students per group).

Assessment Instructions

In this assessment, you will need to complete the following steps: 

1. Select projects in your field of interest. Projects must be aligned with the discipline of project management so that appropriate PMBOK methodology can be applied. The following resources may assist students in selecting a real-life project:

2. Prepare your report. It is advised to follow the order given below to arrange the contents of the assignment in your report.

• Introduction
• Business case
• Project charter
• Stakeholder register
• Balanced Score Card & recommendation
• Conclusion

Submission Type and Required Format

The type of assessment you will be completing is a Report 

It should include the following: 

• The introduction should provide an overview of the topic and the key points that will be covered in the report. The general rule is that the introduction accounts for 10% of the total report word count.
• The main body contains sections (and sub-sections) providing supporting details related to the topic.
• The conclusion includes a summary of the main points and findings covered in the paper. Like the introduction, the conclusion generally accounts for 10% of the total report word count.
• The reference list and in-text citations follow the APIC Harvard referencing style.
•  If required add an appendix with information that does not need to go in the body of the report but would be useful for the reader
