PPAD Assessment 1 Brief (Structure & Content Guidance)

Assessment 1 – Skills Audit

Complete a skills audit(s). Templates for skills audits can be found under the ‘Assessment 1 Materials’ tab on MyBeckett.

1. Task 1: Review Your Current Skills (200 words)
2. Task 2: Identify Key Areas for Development (200 words)
3. Task 3: Set Developmental Goals (100 words)

Task 1 – Review of Skills (200 words)

• Based on the results of your skills audit, provide a brief review of two skills you identified as a strength. 
• Explain how you have developed these skils and give real-life examples from your previous experiences (e.g. school, work, extracurricular activities etc.).
• Highlight any achievements that have resulted from these strengths.

Task 2 – Identify Key Areas for Development (200 words)

• Look at the skills in which you scored lower on your audit and identify two areas for improvement. 
• Discuss why you believe they need development and how improving these skills will benefit your academic and professional journey. 
• Mention any challenges or barriers that have prevented you from developing these skills so far.

Task 3: Set Developmental Goals (100 words)

• Using the results of your review, set two short-term and two long-term goals to improve the skills identified in Task 2. 
• For each goal, describe the actions you will take to achieve it, including any resources or support available to you (e.g., Skills for Learning workshops, mentoring, academic support, volunteering, work). 
• Ensure that your goals are SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound).
