Business Plan Assignment

Each student is required to identify a business idea and prepare a business plan. The business plan should be between 25 to 30 pages, 1.5 spaced, Times New Roman and 12-point font. The written business plan represents a 50% of your total mark for the course.

Written Business Plan Outline

Cover Page To Include The Following Information:

Table Of Contents  (2 Marks)

One page – to include the major sections of the plan and page numbers.

Executive Summary (2 Marks)

1-2 pages of a clear overview of the business concept.
It should highlight the key areas (industry and market analysis, company

and an operation plan, and a marketing and financial plan) of your business plan.

Industry Analysis (5 Marks)

• Industry size, growth rate, and sales projections
• Industry structure (i.e. Porter’s Five Forces)
• Key success factors for industry
• Industry trends (PEST Analysis)

Market Analysis (5 Marks)

• Provide research: (a) market size and (b) potential for growth.
• Target market – describe your customers (age, gender, income, etc.)
• Competition – describe competitors, compare their product/service features and price and highlight their strengths and weaknesses against your company

• Mission statement
