This unit aims to develop a student’s knowledge, skills, and understanding concerning the theory and practice of people resourcing and development (PR&D), and how this can effectively contribute to the achievement of corporate strategic goals. The role of the HR  professional in facilitating the relationship between PR&D and organisational effectiveness will be critically examined.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Having completed this unit, the student is expected to: 

1. Demonstrate critical understanding and knowledge of the strategic significance of people resourcing and development by critically analysing how the integration of the theory and practice of PR&D enhances organisational effectiveness. 

2. Demonstrate practical and professional skills in the ability to critically appraise current research, advanced scholarship and contemporary methodologies in people resourcing and development. 

3. Critically evaluate contemporary people development strategies; design and apply solutions to people development problems arising in organisations.
