Undertake research and write a short paper that examines the: 

“Digital policy environment of a specified individual company/organisation using suitable economic, competition, consumer protection and privacy concepts, tools and frameworks, as appropriate for its digital policy environment.”

• That you show that you can successfully analyse the policy environment of a company or policy regulator. 

• That you can think from the perspective of a regulator OR a business dealing with a regulator.

Here you are required to: 1. select an organisation (a real organisation that is currently operating) – before you do read the section ‘Choosing the organisation to study’ on p2 of the Summative coursework brief. 2. analyse a specific digital policy legal case or investigation involving that company 3. produce an analysis of the rationale for the investigation/case/public concern and the best course of action for the company or regulator to pursue, given the information available. The aim is to provide some insights into the current and future digital policy environment for the organisation. You can take either the perspective of the company or of the regulator in your writing. 

Naturally in looking at the digital policy of a business, it is important to look at the sector(s) / market(s) it operates within and the competitive forces driving that sector(s)/market(s) along with ways it might evolve, in the context of the macroeconomic forces of the futures.
