MSM7050 Task/assessment brief: 

MSM7050 Introduction 

For your assessment in this module, you are to select ONE of the contemporary international political issues listed below and undertake an independent critical investigation of it. 

The contemporary international political issues are (SELECT ONLY ONE):

• Russia – Ukraine War
• Israel’s conflict with Iran and its proxies
• Climate change
• The changing world order 

For the WRIT1 assessment you must write an academic essay of 2,800 words (± 10%) critically evaluating your chosen topic and its relevance to contemporary business and management. The essay should be fully referenced (both in-text citations and reference lists entries) using Harvard Referencing.

• The essay must be written in an appropriate academic style.
• Theory covered in the module must be used to critically analyse and evaluate the contemporary international political issue selected from the list above
• The relevance to, and significance of, the issue to the business environment must be considered.
• A wide range of academic literature must be used
• The essay must be referenced correctly, using both citations and a reference list

• Critically evaluate how the global system and international relations shape and determine the environment within which international businesses operate.
• Demonstrate a critical awareness of the links between policy and recent developments in international trade, investment, money and finance.
• Critically assess the changing patterns of globalisation, regional integration and nationalism and their impact on international businesses.
• Identify a range of contemporary political issues and critically evaluate their impact upon the international business environment.
• Evidence critical analytical, evaluative and reflective academic skills by conducting independent research on a range of global issues that are relevant to international business operations.
