Assessment instructions: 

This 2,000-word portfolio consists of 3 PARTs and should be structured as follows. 

PART I - Reflection on leadership development learnings [approx. 750 words + or - 10%]. 

Critically reflect on 3-4 main learning points from the module that have significantly influenced your understanding of leadership development. 

• These could include principles of personal leadership, self-awareness, emotional intelligence, critical thinking, social capital, leadership styles, health and wellbeing, or other key areas covered in the module.
• Include an evaluation of how these learnings align with or challenge your previous beliefs or assumptions.
• You may use 'what, so what and then what' structure 

Be explicit in connecting your reflections to lectures, readings, in-class activities, or independent learning sources and include illustrative examples from your experience or observation of others to demonstrate understanding of concepts and their relevance to you personally. Make sure to cite relevant academic resources to support your points. 

PART II - Personal Leadership Critical Reflection and Development Plan 

a)Leadership development self-evaluation and career aspirations [suggested wordcount allocation 500 words + or - 10%]: 

Critically evaluate your current leadership skills and competencies in the context of your career aspirations. You should: 

• Briefly identify your career objectives and aspirations.
• Reflect on your motivations for pursuing this career path and the alignment with your personal leadership style, preferences and skills.
• Assess your strengths and areas for improvement regarding the personal leadership demands (and sustainability) of your chosen career. 

You must use module materials and concepts, in-class activities, and further research to substantiate your evaluation. Make sure to cite relevant academic resources to support your points. You aim to demonstrate self-awareness, contextual awareness and an objective evaluation of leadership skills and competencies (about employment market demands and long-term sustainability). 

b)Personal Leadership Development Plan aspirations [suggested wordcount allocation 750 words + or - 10%]: 

Building on the previous section. Develop a comprehensive and realistic development plan to enhance your leadership skills and competencies in the first 3 years from graduation. 

Outline clear and achievable goals, milestones, and timelines for your leadership development. You must ensure clarity and feasibility by including examples and explanations of action steps and strategies in your plan (personal leadership development agenda). 
Explore potential personal and contextual challenges, such as job market uncertainties or personal constraints that may impact your development. Also, include examples of strategies you will use to overcome these challenges. 
Integrate module concepts, materials, further research and critical thinking into your plan.

All sources used in the preparation of an essay must be listed in a bibliography. Use the Harvard referencing style consistently throughout your report.
