MM206 Assignment Tasks:

PART I – Set learning goals (approx. 300 words).

1.1 Please describe what leadership means to you.
1.2 Now complete the ‘Personal Leadership Styles’  questionnaire (section 3.3 in Northouse, 2021) and describe insights from your results. 
1.3 What are your top 2 or 3 learning goals for this module and explain why have you chosen these?

PART 2 – Compare and Contrast (approx. 1000 words)

2.1 Please choose one example of a leader from either the case studies discussed in lectures, your text book, a person you know or one from recent news stories. Referring to the leadership concepts covered in lectures and in chapters 1 to 3 of your text book, describe how this person exemplifies (or not) one or more of the concepts. 
2.2 Now, please choose another example of a leader, preferably quite different to your first example, and describe how they represent (or not) one or more of the leadership concepts. 
2.3 Compare and contrast these 2 different leaders:  What is similar? What is different?

PART 3 – Practical Leadership Challenges (approx. 1,200 words) 

For the following 4 sections (each approx. 300 words), please choose a leadership case study, or more than one, from either your classes, text book or another reliable source, or a personal leadership experience to illustrate your answers.
3.1 Explain how a leader might set and communicate a vision. What is the impact of different leadership styles on this? How might you do this, referencing your own personal leadership style, as covered in section 1.2 of this assignment?
3.2 What is the impact of different leadership styles on tasks andrelationships on leadership? Please provide at least one  example.
3.3 How might a leader create a constructive climate for effective leadership? Please address how you might embrace diversity and inclusion, with examples.
3.4 There can be many obstacles to effective leadership, such as ethical challenges and conflicting views. Please give an example of when this has been done well and also when it was not done so well. What lessons can you draw from these experiences?

PART 4 – Personal Learning Reflection (approx. 500 words)

4.1 Please review your original learning goals for this module. Now using an appropriate learning model or framework, please reflect on your learning and summarise your insights into leadership as a result of studying this module. Which aspects of leadership would you like to know more about and what plans do you have to follow this up?
