MD332 Assessment 1 Brief: Podcast Group Project Guidelines | Maynooth University

MD332 ASSESSMENT 1 BRIEF.

• For the first half of this module students will be assessed based on a small-group (3 people: producer, presenter, researcher, editor – you decide the roles) podcast  (5 minutes, with 20 second leeway each way) recording.

The recording will include:

• A scripted introduction about any sector of media work that the student group wants to cover.
• A short interview with a worker from the sector profiling how they entered media work, their ongoing career development, how they suggest students get work in that sector.
• A scripted conclusion that articulates some key points about the sector based on what we have heard in the interview or learned about in class AND that refers to at least 2 points from 2 readings we covered in the module. 
• Any other creative elements that students wish to use such as music, archive, sound effects etc.

Use of GenAI is not permitted for this podcast and script assignment. 

This includes using written or audio materials that have been amended, extensively rewritten or generated by AI tools including but not limited to Chat GPT, Quillbot or Grammarly. Any work that is flagged as containing passages of audio or text suspected to have been produced by AI will be subject to an investigation, possibly leading to a finding of plagiarism.

Submission details: 

• Please submit your podcast audio file via the Moodle page for MD332 along with thescript used for the podcast 
• There is a folder there called ‘Submit your podcast here’•Please make sure every individual in the group submits a copy of the podcast and the script
• THE ASSIGNMENT IS DUE AT 17:00 ON NOVEMBER 25th
