MANT222 Preparation 

Tutorials classes offer you the opportunity to work in groups on a series of tasks designed to apply the  concepts  and  stimulate  your  interest  as  it  applies  to  “everyday”  issues.  The  key  feature  of tutorials is the reflection upon your own participation and the group dialogue.   

This assessment comprises a critical synopsis of content experienced via tutorials 1-6.   

As part of your preparation, you must engage with the materials provided on the changing nature of work. These resources, available in the tutorial folder, are designed to prompt critical thinking and insightful  discussion  on  several  key  topics  relevant  to  modern  management  and  professional communication.  

• Navigate to the tutorial folder and locate the link to articles on the changing nature of work. 
• As you review the articles, make detailed notes that you can share during the class.

• Engage in preparation activities and reflect on tutorial content, including memes, to foster understanding. 
• Reflections  should  demonstrate  critical  thinking,  cohesive  argumentation,  and  reflective judgment.

MANT222 Essay Structure 

Introduction:

• Briefly introduce the purpose of the reflective essay. 
• Outline the main discussion areas that will be discussed in your essay. 

Body: The body of your essay should be divided into sections, each focusing on a different tutorial topic related to the discussion areas. For each section, consider the following: 

o Description of Experience: 

• Summarise your initial understanding or expectations of the topic before the tutorial. 
• Describe  specific  activities,  discussions,  or  content  from  the  tutorial  that were particularly impactful.

o Reflection and Analysis:

• Reflect  on  how  the  tutorial  activities  and  content  affected  your understanding of the topic. 
• Analyse the relevance of the concepts learned to real-world situations, your personal and professional life. 

o Personal Growth and Challenges: 

• Discuss any challenges you faced in understanding or applying the topic and how you overcame them.
• Highlight  any  significant  insights  gained  and  how  they contributed  to  your personal growth. 

o Application of Theory to Practice:

• Provide examples of how you can apply or have applied the knowledge and skills gained to practical situations. 
• Reflect  on  how  these  applications  could  influence  your  future  behavior  or career path.

Conclusion: 

• Summarise the key insights and learnings from your reflective essay.

MANT222 Essay Format

• All assignments must have a title page containing, paper code (MANT222), assignment title,   number of words, student name and/or ID number. Please generate this. 
• Assignments must be word processed in 12-point font using single or 1.5 line spacing.
• Good writing rules apply:

• Paragraphs should not be one line. 
• Section headings make it easier to follow assignments (e.g., “Format” is the heading for the section you are currently reading). Short quotes should be integrated in paragraphs. 
• Do  not  put  pictures  or  superfluous  diagrams  in  the  assignment  unless  it  adds  to  the content of the work. 
• Remember  to  proofread  your  work  and  run  a  spell‐check.  Spelling  and  grammatical errors  make  your  work  look  unprofessional  and  detracts  from  the  quality  of  your argument. 
• Correct referencing (APA style) and citation is essential.

• Appropriate theories are expected to be engaged with. The use of example to demonstrate   analysis and synthesis of concepts is also valued. This is where you demonstrate research.
• It is good practice when discussing others to consider issues relating to confidentiality and   privacy  (when  using  examples  from  your  group  please  either  use  A,  B,  C,  etc.  or  fictitious names   to preserve the anonymity of your group members).
