GBEN4002 Summative Assignment Task 

You are required to prepare ONE SUBMISSION consisting of TWO parts. There should be 2,500 words. The two parts are all described below. This assignment provides an opportunity to demonstrate your achievement of the module learning outcomes. The formative taskswhich are outlined in the Module Guide are essential to the completion of your summative assignment.

GBEN4002 Task requirements 

Overview 

The assignment should be submitted as a single Word document in the Assignment Template, which contains the cover page and assignment structure. In total, your work should contain 2,500 words. Make sure to proofread your work before submission to avoid spelling or grammar mistakes. Ensure that referencing is done while accessing online resources, including eBooks, images, and credible secondary data sources for all the parts. 

Assignment Task 

This assignment requires you to write a 2,500-word report, based on analysis of a fictional business (Omega Electronics Ltd) provided by your instructor. The case study of Omega Electronics Ltd will include key financial documents such as the Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss Statement, and Cash Flow Statement.

Your task is to write a two-part report that assesses the business's financial health, identifies areas where it is performing well, suggest areas for improvement, and provide strategic recommendations based on the financial data. Any additional calculations should be included within an appendix. Any calculations or financial tables used within the report are not included within the final word count. 

GBEN4002 Assignment Structure 

Part 1: (2000 words | Mark 70% | LO1, LO2, LO3) 

Analysis of Omega Electronics Ltd 

• Identify the key financial documents and other relevant data from the case study. 
• Carefully review the financial information provided in the case study, which includes the Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss Statement, and Cash Flow Statement.

• Analyse the business's performance by evaluating the main financial statements.
• Use appropriate financial ratios (such as liquidity, profitability, and solvency ratios) to explain the business's financial performance. 

• Assess whether the business is performing well overall based on the information provided.

• Identify strengths in the business's financial performance and highlight weaknesses or areas of concern.
• Provide recommendations for improvement, focusing on what the business can do better. This may involve suggestions for better financial management, operational improvements. 

Part 2:(500 words | Mark 20% | LO4) 

Strategic Decision Making (Mark 20%) 

• Based on your analysis in Part 1, develop strategic recommendations for the business. Consider the business's potential actions, such as expansion, going public, or restructuring. 
• Present your recommendations in a concise report, ensuring that your suggestions are practical, actionable, and well-supported by the financial analysis.
