Part 1 - Brief

Based on the information and fact pattern provided, you will write and turn in an appellate brief addressing the following issue: 

Issue

Did the juvenile court err when it granted the tribe's motion to transfer jurisdiction of the state juvenile court action to the tribal court?

Brief Format

The brief should follow the format as prescribed in the Wyoming Rules of Appellate Procedure for appellate briefs. You can review filed briefs online through the Wyoming Supreme Court's website as samples. However, you are still responsible for ensuring the rules for format, etc., have been followed. 

You are required to identify the appropriate rule(s) and follow them accordingly. Please note that the rules set out specific requirements relating to margins, spacing, font size, etc. that should be complied with. 

The substantive argument portions of the brief should follow I.R.A.C. 
The brief should be prepared for the signature by the supervising attorney as outlined in the instructions.

Part 2-E-Filing Guide 

In addition to turning in a brief, you will also prepare a step-by-step guide on how to electronically file the brief with the Wyoming Supreme Court. Think of the guide as the set of instructions you would leave in case you, as the primary paralegal, were not available and someone else with little or no experience had to e-file a brief in your absence.

 Your step-by-step guide should include, as practical, a citation to authority for each step. 

At a minimum, you will want to refer to the Wyoming Rules of Appellate Procedure, the Wyoming Supreme Court's website, any e-filing guides, or guidelines for Wyoming and Supreme Court orders addressing e-filing. 

If your step-by-step guide could benefit from screenshots or hyperlinks to web pages etc., that is appropriate (and encouraged!).
