FIN3120 Business Finance Module Assessment

Task

This assessment aims to check students’ critical understanding of contemporary corporate finance and the tools to solve the financial problems confronting business today. Students should demonstrate their understanding of the main aspects of corporate finance, including investment decision, financing choices, and dividend decision. 

Task 1: Individual assignment 

Using a mix of company and publicly available information, students will be required to estimate a company’s cost of capital and use it to assess whether planned investments will create value or not and, on that basis, decide whether a company should go ahead with those investments or not.

Task 2: Final Individual Assignment 

Using a mix of company and publicly available information, students will be required to analyse the financial performance of a chosen company with the ultimate aim of providing advice on whether buying the company’s shares would be a good investment or not.
