Enclave Is A (fictional) Events Agency Based in Leeds Assessment 2 Group Presentation

Brief

Enclave is a (fictional) events agency based in Leeds, specialising in the MICE sector. Enclave has been operating for 7 years. Originally Enclave was
a small family business, but the company has expanded rapidly. Enclave’s Staffing consists of:

• Managing director
• 10 full-time permanent members of staff
• 8 part me permanent members of staff
• Up to 50 members of staff on short-term, temporary contracts to cover specific events
• A pool of 30 casual staff
• Up to 50 volunteers

Your team of HR consultants has been hired by Enclave to help them design a bespoke HR cycle for one of these staff groups. Your group will be
allocated a staff group (full-time permanent; part-time permanent; temporary; casual; volunteer) In workshops in Week 10.

Your task is to present a full HR cycle to help Enclave recruit, develop and retain that staff group. Your recommendations should be based on best
Practice HR and tailored to the staff group.

Your presentation should include the following:

• An introduction to the staff group and the particular HR issues that might arise
• An outline of good practice HR for that staff group, covering all 7 stages of the HR cycle
• An explanation of how your proposed HR cycle will help Enclave (a) attract, (b) develop, and (c) retain that staff group
• Consideration of how your proposed HR cycle will consider any relevant equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) issues

Presentations will take place in Week 12. You will have 15 minutes to present, followed by 5 minutes of questions.

You may use PowerPoint in your presentation and should print out and bring along a copy of your slides for your tutor at the assessment. A copy
of the slides must also be uploaded to TurnItIn.

A full briefing will take place in the lecture in Week 10. Weekly workshops will then provide an opportunity to work on the assessment and develop
