ECO9040, MGT9703: Decision Analysis for Managers/Managerial Decision Making Assignment 1 Brief: Literature Review

Introduction

In this assignment, you are required to conduct a critical review of the academic literature on applications of decision analysis frameworks and tools/techniques to decision problems in your field of study. You are also required to briefly review the role of data/analytics and some of the ethical issues that managers confront in your field of study. You are expected to critically synthesis relevant literature, with a focus on applications of decision analysis frameworks and tools/techniques covered in the module – as applied to your field of study.

As you critically read individual studies, make your own notes especially on the following: (a) the objectives of the study (b) methodology or research approach, including methods used to collect data(if applicable) and methods of analysis, including specific decision analysis frameworks and/or models/techniques employed (c) a summary of key results, and (d) your own thoughts as you read the text. After reading widely and relevantly, write your narrative. Structure your writing thematically, in which themes fall naturally into sections and/or subsections. You should structure your writing thematically in the following five sections (approximately 2,000 words in total, excluding references, tables and any appendices).
