The aim of this research is to investigate the underlying causes of project delays in government construction projects and to propose strategic mitigation approaches to enhance timely project delivery.
This study will adopt a quantitative research design to systematically examine the relationship between key contributing factors and project delays in government construction projects.
Data Collection: Data will be collected through a structured questionnaire developed using Google Forms and distributed to professionals involved in public sector construction projects, including project managers, engineers, consultants, and government officers. The questionnaire will consist of closed-ended items measured using a 5-point Likert scale to quantify perceptions related to contractor issues, client involvement, consultant performance, and regulatory delays.
Sampling: A purposive sampling method will be employed to target respondents with relevant industry experience in government-funded construction projects across Malaysia. A minimum sample size will be determined using G*Power software to ensure adequate statistical power.
Data Analysis: The collected data will be analyzed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), applying descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and multiple regression to test the strength and significance of the relationships between the independent variables and the occurrence of project delays.
