The purpose of this module is to enhance the students’ appreciation of the planned events sector and to develop their understanding of the issues affecting international events management now and in the future. By engaging students in an advanced level analysis of contemporary issues and debates, the module will establish the ethos of the course and the approach to postgraduate study. The aims of this module are to:
enhance the students’ appreciation of the factors that influence the development of the global events sector, including issues of sustainable and responsible events management practice;
promote the contribution of academic research to their understanding of key issues affecting the management of events;
demonstrate the importance of engaging critically with events management practice and academic literature for effective postgraduate study.
