Guidance 

Your assignment should include: a title page containing your student number, the module name, the submission deadline and the exact word count of your submitted document; the appendices if relevant; and a reference list in AU Harvard system(s). BUSINESS CHALLENGE – Green House Ltd and ITnetics Consultancy Group 

Green House Ltd. owns around 15000 short term [maximum availability for 30 days] lets in different cities of EU and UK. In addition to that they own some camping sites and offer rent a car, a motorcycle and/or a bicycle service to their customer. Sometimes they offer discount rates and packages. Their packages are also sold by the high street travel agents. As an expansion plan, they decided to allow B2B customers to publish these GHL services i.e. rental services on their websites or applications. B2B customers can interact with GHL backend and update information within their own interface (i.e. website or application) using API. Currently, GHL has a website for booking. Unfortunately, the website is also not mobile friendly. To achieve the goals and meet the expectations of their customers and make the rental objects, available to other B2B customers, they decided to develop a SaaS application. The CEO is interested in following features and components:

• A SaaS application to manage deals and other business-related data.
• Although objective is to develop a native mobile application but for now a functional mobile friendly web interface will also work.
• The admins staff and third-party agent and B2B user can search, book, and advertise available facilities based on a particular requirement and location.
• An interface for agents to fill in their offers and integrate with their websites

Initially, the company was planning to hire an internal software development team, however, later the organization decided to outsource this project to a well reputed software house or company. It will allow the core staff to stay focused on critical projects and save some cost and effort too. The company wants the below functionality:

• A SaaS based back end or application that eliminates the extra cost of developing multiple separate systems for all parties. i.e. Agents, B2B customers and admin staff.
• B2B customers can integrate API with their websites and applications to show offers and use APIs to check availability and update status.
• Support and/or interfaced specially designed for Agents and affiliates.
• An interface specially designed for the company’s customers who can book all services and offers directly from company’s portal.
• Alternative interfaces for internal staff for data management and registering affiliates and agents.
• Email/SMS notifications to all parties when deal status changes.
• Excel report generation, distribution, and filtering, to increase data visibility
• The project must be completed within 12 months’ duration.

ITnetics Consultancy Group has been chosen for their strong record of successful project delivery using PRINCE2 methodology and working seamlessly with offshore and onshore teams. ITnetics often outsource parts of financial aspects of projects to Dosh Sage Ltd, a firm specialises in integration payment portals.

COM5011/COM5022 Assignment Task

SECTION 1: PROJECT PLAN

Task 1 – Business Case and Project Initiation Document

In the context of the case study, you are compiling a report to the Project Board. As a part of this task, you should produce a business case and a Project Initiation Document. The content guidance is provided in the assignment template at the end of this brief.

Task 2 – Project Plan

Select and apply IT project management techniques to deliver a project plan for the given case study. Select and apply resource scheduling and allocation techniques, such as Critical Path Analysis and Work Breakdown Structures.

As a part of this task, you will produce:

1. Produce a detailed project plan appropriate phases and detailed activities and clear sequence to the activities with meaningful timelines.
2. Demonstrate the application of milestones, checkpoints and relevant constraint and contingencies applied in the plan.
3. Produce Work-Based Structures for each of the deliverables.
4. Conduct Critical Path Analysis of the final project plan demonstrating lead and lag times.

In the context of the case study, critically evaluate YOUR approaches to planning, people management, risk management and project delivery. Where appropriate, underpin your writing with relevant and valid literature to support your arguments and reflection.
