BUS5PR1 Assessment 01:

The first assessment will focus on the development and presentation of an innovative start-up pitch leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) in addressing global health challenges, specifically targeting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal of Good Health and Well-Being (SDG 3). The urgency of improving healthcare accessibility, disease prevention, and medical innovation highlights the importance of leveraging AI to develop innovative solutions. SDG Goal 3 calls for immediate actions to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all by 2030, addressing critical healthcare challenges such as lack of access to essential medical services, rising chronic diseases, mental health concerns, pandemics, and healthcare system inefficiencies.

The increasing availability of health data and advancements in AI, data analytics, and new generative AI capabilities present an opportunity to develop and deploy intelligent healthcare systems to tackle global health issues effectively. AI, data analytics, and generative AI should be incorporated to develop innovative and impactful healthcare solutions, including but not limited to disease prediction, medical diagnostics, patient care optimization, healthcare automation, biomedical research, and mental health support.

Your start-up pitch should clearly outline the problem it aims to address and how AI, data analytics, and generative AI will be integrated into the solution. Detail the AI tools, techniques, and frameworks that will be employed, explaining the technical feasibility and innovative aspects of the solution. Discuss the potential social, economic, privacy, and ethical impacts of your start-up, providing data and projections to support the anticipated benefits.

What you are required to do:

• Understand the key elements of a start-up.
• Conduct an environment scan/literature search of current solutions in the area, both overseas and local Background).
• Develop a critical understanding of the gaps, challenges, as well as the needs and expectations in this sector globally (Problem/Challenge).
• Based on your readings and observations, as well as expertise acquired in the course thus far, propose the design, development strategy, and deployment strategy of an analytics solution for the identified problem/challenge (Solution).
• You must independently decide on the nature, scale of the problem, as well as the type of analytics solution (components, lifecycle, insights generation) that you intend to design, develop, and deploy.
• This solution must provide a competitive advantage from an organisational perspective.
• You must also account for the ethics and governance factors that will influence the proposed solution.
