The students are requested to complete activities (25%) and 2500 words report (75%) as the assessment for this module. There are two parts of the assessment:

Part 1 consists of five activities. Part 2 is the coursework.

Activity 1:

You need to draw the operations management function of a hospital. Hospital provides different health care services which includes, emergency, cardiology, natal and childcare, urology and many more. (Input- Transformation- Output)

Activity 3:

Given the following customer requirements and technical requirements for an automobile, construct a partial House of Quality. Use your own preferences to denote relationship strengths.

For example, good mileage is strongly related to fuel economy and acceleration rate, and fast response to passing time and acceleration rate. Good handling doesn’t appear to be related to any of the listed technical requirements, suggesting that more information is needed for a good design.

Activity 4: 

Highland Motors uses 25000 gear assemblies every year and purchases them for £3.40 each. It costs £50 to process and receive an order and inventory can be carried at a cost of £ 0.78 per unit-year.

2. Forecast the demand for week 7 using a three-period weighted moving average. Use the following weights: W1 = .5, W2 = .3, W3 = .2.
3. Forecast the demand for week 7 using exponential smoothing. Use an α value of .1 and assume the forecast for week 6 was 600 units.
