Task/assessment brief: JIT principles in the service industry

This assignment is an individual report of 1600 words. The aim is to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the role of operations management in the service industry.

Traditionally associated with manufacturing, the Just-In-Time (JIT) system is now increasingly applied within the service sector. Analyse how JIT principles can be adapted for service operations. What modifications are necessary to implement JIT effectively in a service-oriented environment, and what are the potential effects on service quality and customer satisfaction?"

Your analysis should be structured as a cohesive and well-organised report.

Finally, you should support your work by providing in-text citations and a complete list of references following the Harvard style. Your work should include at least 10 references from journal articles.
