Successful students will be able to:
1 Develop in depth knowledge, understanding and applied research skills required to de- sign and implement international business research projects, and the key practices and challenges therein;
2 Determine and critically evaluate key qualitative and quantitative research techniques that can be applied to research problems in various international business contexts;
3 Identify, analyse, and draw reasoned conclusions from data; and
4 Present an academic piece of work in a coherent and logical manner
1) Word count excludes the title page, contents page, in-text references and citations, tables, reference list and appendices.
2) Your work should include references to relevant journal articles and other good quality information sources and should be properly laid out using the Harvard system of
referencing. More detailed guidance is available via the library site. We encourage you to make good use of all the support services offered by the campus library.
3) You should refer to the assessment criteria to provide fuller details of the marking criteria for each classification band
4) In addition, you should refer to the standard assessment guidelines as presented in your Course Handbook/Support Area, this includes guidance and policies on referencing style, plagiarism, etc.
5) Coursework must be submitted by the dates specified. Coursework submitted after the deadline, without prior approval, is not normally accepted. For further guidance on the late submission of coursework, please see the course handbook.
6) See the Assessment Brief and Template document for more information. The wordcount is 4000 words. You are allowed +/- 10%, which equates to 3600 - 4400. Words in excess of this may not be marked, or a reduced mark given.
The assignment is a 4-part individual written assignment worth 100% of your overall mark. It takes the form of a research proposal which outlines the plan for a 'Pure' research project. It is highly recommended to consider using a potential dissertation topic.
As a research proposal it must include the planning of primary research, but no primary data should be collected.
It should follow the format which can be found separately under the assessment tab of Blackboard where guidance/ approximate word counts are given for each section/subheading.
The template contains sections/subheadings, beneath each there is a short bullet list. This is an explanation of the information you should include within each section. All submissions must include name, student number, contents page, address sections 1-4, a Reference / Al list, and any relevant appendices.
Word limit: 4000 words.
You are allowed +/- 10%, which equates to 3600 - 44001.
