BLDG 3023 Hypothetical Case 

It is increasingly becoming important for candidates to understand the fundamentals of job applications, by knowing how to prepare a good cover letter and a resume, and to master interviews and relevant assessment exercises.  

For this assignment, you are required to apply for a job of your preference based on the list of hypothetical job advertisements provided.  

1. A cover letter using AI generator (3%)
2. A cover letter using your personal thoughts, creativity and writing (7%)
3. 2-Page resume (5%)
4. Assessment centre, case study, role-playing and interview exercises (in person) (15%)

Details for Assignment Submission and Layout  

1. Date of assignment issuance: 24 February 2025.
2. Date of assignment submission:

1. Items 1 – 3: you are required to submit your AI generated cover letter, personal written cover letter and resume by no later than 12 March 2025, 23:59 hour.
2. Item 4: you are required to participate in the specially designed in-class exercises during respective tutorial session. Your tutor will notify you of the allocated date and timeslot for the in-class exercises. You need to attend the session in person.

3. Place of submission for items 1 - 3: Individual Assignment Submission Folder within the Moodle Course website.

4. Late submission WILL BE penalized at a rate of 5% of the total assessable mark per working day after the submission date. 

This deduction is for the nominated assignment task only and will be capped at five days (i.e., 120 hours), after which you cannot submit the assessment.
