Task Details

You are required to carry out research on an issue of your clients' choosing.  You will be required to complete the following:

Terms of Reference

Your group is required to write the consultancy projects' Terms of Reference using four PowerPoint slides. This should be produced in an acceptable professional format. Please refer to the materials on Blackboard.  

You will be required to present your Terms of Reference to your seminar tutor and will receive formative feedback to support the development of your project. 

This will be signed off by your tutor before you proceed with your research. Each member of the group will be assigned a specific area of research. 

Presentation 

The group is required to compile a PowerPoint presentation. 
Each member of the group will present their allotted research. However, the presentation must flow between sections, meet the client objectives, and have recommendations that cover all objectives. These should be collectively decided upon based on all the research undertaken. 

You will have the opportunity to answer questions set by your tutor in a practice session and you will receive formative feedback. Once approved by your tutor you will send this to your client following the final presentation. In this session the client will ask each group questions based on their presentation slides.  You are required to wear formal business attire, and you should behave in a professional manner.   
SHU PowerPoint slide templates can be found on Blackboard.  Everyone in the group is required to be present and contribute to answering any questions.

The session may take place at Sheffield Hallam University, the client premises or remotely.  

Individual Report

Each member of the group will write a short business report based on their research. 
The report should be based on your secondary research, supported by academic theory and concepts where appropriate.  
The report must be produced in an acceptable professional format. It should be written in a sophisticated level of the English language in an eloquent and professional manner.   Ensure headers and heading numbering as well as page numbers are used.  Any diagrams/ charts you embed must be legible. Everything should be appropriately referenced in APA style. 

Ensure you attend sessions provided by the Skills Centre on academic writing and delivering presentation.
