Having completed this module, you are now ready to independently read, interpret, and critically appraise published research. In this 2000-word assignment, you will critically review a paper published in a peer-reviewed journal that describes a research project.

Task

Summarise, interpret, and critically appraise the design and findings of a research study related to a public health issue.

The assignment will focus on the following paper:

In your summary:

1. summarise and critique the reasons why the study was done as well as the study aims, methodology, and key findings
2. describe and evaluate how potential bias and confounding was considered in the study design and analysis, and CS CamScanner
3. assess the potential implications of the evidence presented in the paper for population health
   and/or clinical practice

In your written assignment, you should discuss issues and decisions reported by the authors in the paper, and you should also discuss your own evaluation of key issues and critical appraisal of the research study and published paper. You should consider strengths and weaknesses of both the research study and the published paper that reports the research study.

Guideline

Due dates will be communicated in the course of the module Your submission should be 2000 words In length (+/- 10%). In addition to correctly referencing the focus paper, your assignment should show evidence of wide reading of appropriate literature to support your Ideas. Please make sure that you correctly cite and reference all secondary sources you use, and include a reference list. The reference list and appendix will not be included In your final word count. Your work should be fully referenced using APA 7th edition. The first time that you reference the authors of the focus paper in each paragraph, you should Include the full in-text citation. In accordance with the APA 7th edition style guide, subsequent references within the same paragraph may be cited briefly (eg you may refer to "the authors" or "Burton et at" without the date) assuming that this is clear to the reader. If there is any ambiguity (for example, if you are also citing a different paper by Burton) then expand the citation until the references can be clearly distinguished.

In addition, I would like to highlight that you will need to submit a single document that contain your final written assignment, references, STROBE checklist, and data extraction template. Please complete the STROBE checklist and data extraction template and include them as appendices to the final written assignment. 

To complete the STROBE checklist, please report the page number where the paper addresses each STROBE recommendation. Additionally, please provide a brief summary of the relevant  information found in the paper related to each point on the checklist. 

Your submission should be 2000 words in length (+/- 10%), excluding references and appendices.
