ARM4801 Information and knowledge governance Assessment 1 Brief 2025

ARM4801 Assignment:

This module consists of six (6) assessments, including five (5) essay type question assessments, and one (1st) quiz assessment. You are expected to write all the assessment. You need to search for information online using different search engines and UNISA library databases for e-resources such as E -Books and e-J oumals. Do NOT rewrite information verbatim, but instead try to explain, interpret and present the information in your own words. The purpose of this assessments is to assess your understanding to what you have learnt in the module.

Please note: Although students may work together when preparing assessments, each student must write and submit his or her own individual assessment. In other words, you must submit your own ideas in your own words, sometimes interspersing relevant short quotations that are properly referenced. It is unacceptable for students to submit identical assessment on the basis that they worked together. That is copying (a form of plagiarism) and none of these assignments will be marked. Furthermore, you may be penalised or subjected to disciplinary proceedings by the University.

The following criteria will be used to mark the assignmert 

• A brief introduction of one to five sentences or paragraph of five lines explaining the topic. In the case of shorter answers such as these. It is, however, important for students to put the topic in perspective, e.g. a definition of key concept in the question. For a short essay, students are not required to write the headings "Introduction, body, conclusion, etc." 
• The body of the ciscussion reflecting key aspects and stages or processes of the topic. 
• Practical examples demonstrating that the student can link the theory with the particular environment. 
• Conclusion or conclusive remark. The student should conclude on what was discussed with his/her voice heard. This may also be made with one to two sentences. 
• There is also a limitation on the length of each assignment, i.e. one page or 500 words for 50 marks question; and one and half page or 700 words for 100 marks question. You are not expected to exceed that for each assignment. 
• In addition, the students should use at least a minimum of five (5) latest sources. Avoid using dated sources at all costs.

Discuss the concept of information and knowledge governance in relation to an organisation or country of your choice. In your discussion, present the relationship of information and knowledge governance to other concepts and facets of information management at the organisational or country level. Provide literature and practical examples in your discussion. If you choose a country or organisation, your examples should be aligned to your choice.
