AC0779 Summative Assessment

Summative assessment is a way to measure whether, and to what extent, you have met the learning outcomes for the module. This gives you your final module mark to determine if you have passed or failed the module.

AC0779 Formative Assessment

Formative assessment has no associated module marks. It is a ‘practice’ for the summative assessment. This will familiarise you with the assessment type and also provide formative feedback that you can use in your final assessment. Formative assessment can also support you to reflect on your own learning.

Formative Assessment Details

You will be asked to provide a sample of approximately 1000 words of your chosen essay topic. The essay topics are provided below and you must choose one to write about (All MLOs). This should be the one that you wish to use for your summative assessment.

Submission of formative work is via email to Module tutor who will provide you with the submission date.

Summative Assessment Details

Your summative assessment for this module is a 3,000-word essay.

You will choose one essay title from the two options below. (All MLOs)

• What are the major activities of strategic management, how are they linked together and why is strategic management useful and important in a dynamic healthcare setting? Use example(s) from the healthcare setting to support your discussion points.
• What is meant by ‘culture’ in an organisation and how does this impact on healthcare organisations, in particular, strategic management activities? Use example(s) from the healthcare setting to support your discussion points.

The hand in date for your assessment is 27th July 2025 electronically via Turnitin on the ELP site.
