2. Graded assignment is to be submitted via SA 3.0 by 9^th February 2025, 23:59 hrs.

3. Late submission of graded assignment without leave of absence (LOA) for the module will be subjected to the following late penalty:

4. Graded assignment should be uploaded into SA 3.0, before the stipulated deadline. Save your graded assignment in word document format, as “<Full Name>_<Student ID>.doc”.

5. You are expected to complete this assessment based on your own effort, understanding, and research. The use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools is permitted to support your work, but any AI-generated content must be clearly acknowledged.

• Clearly indicate which parts of your work were generated by AI.
• Provide details of the AI tool(s) used, including the input prompts and how the generated responses were incorporated into your work.

Question 1

Combination supplements containing multiple minerals or vitamins are commonly available (e.g. calcium–magnesium tablets, multi-mineral capsules, or calcium–vitamin C soft gels).

Identify ONE commercially available supplement that represents a mineral–mineral, vitamin–vitamin, or mineral–vitamin combination. Please select a product that is currently marketed in Singapore, either online or in physical stores.*

*Please note that you do not have to physically make a trip to the retail pharmacy. You can look for suitable products online as most major retailers have an online store.

a) Ensure that your answer contains clear photos of the selected product and that you have listed out their name, respectively.

b) Identify the active ingredients in the selected product.

c) Describe the possible interactions between the ingredients within the selected product? Explain if these interactions affect mineral absorption in a positive, negative, or neutral manner.

d) Explain clearly if you would recommend your chosen product to your friends and family.

High cholesterol (hypercholesterolemia) is a major contributor to cardiovascular disease. In Singapore, its prevalence rises sharply with age, from about 1 in 10 adults aged 18–29 years to more than half of those aged 60–74 years.

a) Suggest ONE health supplement that may be consumed by patients with high cholesterol. Justify your answer. You may select a supplement that may be beneficial and/or safe to be consumed by patients with high cholesterol. Please select an actual product that is currently sold online or in stores.*
