Feedback /Marking criteria for this Assignment

  • Performance will be assessed using HBS Grading Criteria (Rubric)
  • Feedback for improvement will be given in writing via your Canvas module site within 4 weeks of submission
  • Lateness Penalty: For each day or part day up to five days after the published deadline, coursework relating to modules submitted late will have the numeric grade reduced by 10 grade points until or unless the numeric grade reaches the minimum pass mark (UG 40/PG 50).  Where the numeric grade awarded for the assessment is less than the minimum pass mark no lateness penalty will be applied.  If the coursework is submitted more than 5 days after the published deadline, it will not be marked and a grade of zero will be awarded. Please note: Referred coursework submitted after the published deadline will be awarded a grade of zero (0).”

Assignment Title: Project Planning & Scheduling Document

Description of the assignment, task, content and structure:

Identify a small project for a client. You must conduct an experiential client-based research project based on the project management lifecycle.

The client can be anyone and the project can be any small-scale project that will take no longer than 6 months from February 2024 to project closure by July 2024.  However, your work must be voluntary.
Record yourself delivering a presentation with accompanying PowerPoint slides with the following sections.
Project Planning & Scheduling Deck (PPS) titled <Client Project>.

  • Project Summary
  • Project Methodology & Ethical considerations
  • Project Work Breakdown Structure
  • Project Schedule, Network Diagram, Critical Path Analysis
  • Project Resourcing Strategy
  • Project Estimation & Budgeting Strategy
  • Project Risk Strategy
  • Project Monitoring & Change Control Strategy
  • Literature Review
  • Case Studies

1.The report presentation and standard of writing must follow the UHBS guidelines below.
2.This is an individual assignment and must be submitted anonymously.
3.The Individual submission includes:

  • An analysis of secondary data (practical case studies) and project management theory relevant to the planning & scheduling phase of project management, and a critique of theory and practice
  • A PowerPoint slide deck a word limit of 1200 words (+/- 10%.) making maximum use of diagrams, tables embedded as diagrams, graphs, charts, and appendices (which are not included in the word count)  
  • A 15-min recorded video by using the narrated PowerPoint presentation. 
  • All filenames should be in the following format: <studentID>_CW3.
  • The title page of the PowerPoint should include the student id, the final word count and the Turnitin similarity score.
  • All references should follow the Harvard style of referencing.
