Assignment Task

Task

This module aims to provide you with an opportunity to apply and develop your research skills and to extend your knowledge, understanding and ability to critically analyse in a specialist area of interest. You will choose an academic area related to your programme of study and apply your independent learning skills to research this area in depth. Students will receive academic support through a series of group supervisions and will be allocated a project supervisor.

This individual presentation is a core part of your project module and serves as your first formal opportunity to present your proposed research or work-based project.

You are required to deliver a 10-minute individual presentation introducing your research or work- based project. You should demonstrate critical thinking and planning aligned with your course of study. Your presentation should cover the following:

  • Present your proposed project title and research question or business issue, explaining its relevance to your programme of study.
  • State your research aim and objectives and justify how they provide focus and structure to your project.
  • Critically summarise the key literature that informs your topic and supports your theoretical or conceptual direction.
  • Outline the key stages of your research project and explain how you are planning to approach them.
  • Provide a clear overview of the progress you have made so far in developing your project, outline the planned next steps for completion, and formally state whether you are undertaking Route 1 (Research Dissertation) or Route 2 (Work-Based Project Report with Artefact).

Note: The project details presented at this stage must remain consistent with your final submission. Any minor changes must be discussed and approved in advance by your supervisor.

Submission Instructions:

  • The presentation slides must be submitted on the Aula page by 18:00 hours on 12/02/2026 via the Turnitin Aula page and must be in Microsoft PowerPoint format and not in PDF format
  • In-person presentation of your research or work-based project in February 2026, to be decided by your Module Leader.
