Assignment Task

You are required to write a report for the NHS who want to understand how successful their current approach is to tackling cardiovascular disease.  
Your report should be no more than 2500 words (excluding cover page, contents and reference list) and be structured as follows:

• Cover Sheet 
• Contents Page 
• Introduction:  This should introduce the reader to the aims of the report and provide a short overview of the issues of cardiovascular disease.  
• The complexity of health & the changing population (LO1 & 4):  This section should explain how complex it is to define health and how the UK population has changed overtime.  This should include information about cardiovascular disease and how it impacts on the delivery of services. 
• The approaches to tackling cardiovascular disease over time (LO 2 & 3): This section should examine the medical, environmental, and social factors that influence cardiovascular disease and explain how health and social care services have developed and changed over time in relation to our approaches to tackle cardiovascular disease.
• Current approaches to tackling cardiovascular disease (LO5): This section should identify at least 1 current policy that tackles cardiovascular disease and appraise it.  
• Conclusion and Recommendations: This section should conclude what you have found about the current cardiovascular disease issue, how we have approached the issue historically and appraise current approaches.  Consider what recommendation you would offer the local authority moving forward based on what you learnt.

3. Explain the historical developments in both the health and social care systems within the UK.
4. Discuss the changes to the population overtime and how these factors impact on the delivery of health and social care services. 
5. Appraise policy that contributes to the health and well-being of the population.
