SH7061 A turning point in the development of England's contemporary health and care system was the NHS Long-Term Plan. The NHS Long Term Plan is the realization of the UK government’s vision to transform the way care is delivered by 2029. NHS staff are working harder than ever to get services back on track, to get waiting lists down and to consistently deliver the best care. The Long Term Plan presents more ambitious targets in the field of cancer care. The plan aims to increase the number of cancer cases diagnosed in stage one or two to 75% by 2028. It is through a multi-stage approach that the NHS aspires to become more agile, sustainable, and efficient to be able to meet the challenges of the next decades. NHS Long Term Plan intends to greatly improve the health outcomes of the population by focusing on such areas as early diagnosis, personalized treatment, and overall patient care within the following domains primary care, cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and maternity and neonatal care.
