LO1: Plan, Construct, and Implement a DevOps solution for a given business scenario
LO2: Critically evaluate strategies for the implementation of a DevOps solution to a given business problem
LO3: Critically evaluate the tools used in the solution development and implementation cycle.
A business that offers clients an online service has recruited you. The service is powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS) and was developed utilising a microservices architecture.
You need to set up a DevOps pipeline so that the service can be continuously integrated and deployed. In order to ensure that the service is launched with the least amount of downtime possible, the pipeline should automate the development, test, and deployment processes.
The following requirements should be met:
1.The pipeline should be based on popular DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, and Docker, and AWS services such as AWS CodeCommit, AWS CodeBuild, and AWS Elastic Beanstalk.
2.The pipeline should be able to handle multiple microservices.
3.The pipeline should include automated testing using the appropriate tool.
4.The deployment process should be designed to minimise downtime and ensure that the service is always available.
5.The pipeline should include monitoring and logging to detect issues early on and enable quick resolution.
6.The pipeline should include a rollback process in case of deployment failure.
7.The pipeline should be well-documented and easy to maintain.
Your deliverables should include a detailed design document outlining the pipeline architecture, a set of scripts and configuration files for implementing the pipeline, and a test report demonstrating that the pipeline is working as intended.
You will design and implement a DevOps solution for a project of your choice. To deliver a DevOps solution, you must adhere to the DevOps methodology and utilise the appropriate technology. This group project will serve as the basis for the entire module grade. You should concentrate on the appropriate portion of the week that the topic is covered because the technologies to be used while developing a solution are linked to instructional sessions. This will let you gradually come up with the solution.
At the end of your submission form provide a brief of the main skills that you have developed during delivering this module.
Please note: the deadline for submitting your portfolio is during WEEK 15.
You will need to submit your practical written report and justify the process and technologies used at each step. Your report should include the following:
1.Title Page
2.Abstract
3.Keyword
4.List of Tables
5.List of Figures
6.Gantt chart
7.Task/Work Division
8.Table of Contents
9.Introduction (why DevOps solution is required)
10.Methodology (Architecture of the DevOps system, Tools used)
11.Results and Discussion
12.Conclusion and Future Scope
13.Personal Reflections
14.Learning Reflections
15.References
16.Appendix
