Introduction

This unit will provide a guide on the step-by-step approach students and individuals can take to excel in their studies and professional practice. It focuses on developing academic skills like reflective and critical thinking abilities which are essential for personal and academic development.

1.2 Reflect Upon A Significant Learning Incident Using An Acknowledged Model

In task 1.2, you need to reflect upon any learning incident you experienced by using reflective models such as Gibbs’ Reflective Cycle or John’s Model of Reflection. Select one of the provided models and explore the factors that motivated you to develop a specific skill. For example, if you chose to improve your proficiency in PowerPoint, discuss the inspiration behind this decision. To address this you can discuss which reliable online resources you assessed to get a broad understanding of the topic, which research-specific tools you used, how you assessed the reliability and academic importance of each source etc along with covering other steps to gather high-quality sources for academic work.

3.1 Evaluate The Quality Of The Research Article Provided

In task 3.1 support your answer by assessing the overall quality of a research article to determine if it meets the standards necessary for inclusion in academic work. To address this, you can consider the credibility of the author, the journal it was published in, the methods used in the study and the other essential considerations to ensure that the article is high-quality and trustworthy enough for academic use.

For task 3.2, you have to explain how the findings you identified in task 2.1 are applicable to the field of health and social care practice. Use those findings and explain how they could potentially improve health and social care outcomes.
