MPM7002 Task/assessment brief:

Digitalization has driven radical transformations in products, services, processes, and entire business models across value chains (Nambisan et al., 2017). The technological advancements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, or Industry 4.0 (i4.0) (Ardito, Messeni Petruzzelli, et al., 2019; Hahn, 2020), have led organizations across various industries to adopt digital technologies and reshape their operations (Van Alstyne et al., 2016). In particular, the emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced analytics are seen as major "game changers" (Waller & Fawcett, 2013) in the transformation of business strategies and decision-making processes.

Task:

In your group, you are required to:

  1. Explore which leadership style is most effective for managing projects in the digital and AI-driven world,
  2. Analyse the crucial role this leadership style plays in the context of project management, l specifically focusing on how AI tools and systems are integrated into leadership and decision-making processes, and
  3. Examine the practical application of this leadership style in real-world projects, particularly in
    environments where AI is influencing workflows, data-driven decisions, and automation.

This group research is to be presented using Power Point slides and supporting narrative by group members to staff. Your presentation is an opportunity in considering a), b) and c) to demonstrate your own leadership knowledge within project management and to make recommendations for the required skill set. Each section of the task i.e., a, b and c will be assessed equally.

You must research on the topic, apply the knowledge to the specified aspects of the task, prepare how this information is to be presented in the allocated time using the technology available in a classroom and use the following material for guidance.

Timeframe of scheduling: The presentations will be scheduled for midway through the semester during class time. Once overall group size is known, group names will be allocated and a schedule of 30-minute slots will be allocated. Each group member will be responsible for presenting a specific section or topic related to the overall theme. Individual marking will be based on individuals’ knowledge and understanding of the topic.

This a reflection of the effort required for the assessment. Word counts will normally include any text, tables, calculations, figures, subtitles and citations. Reference lists and contents of appendices are excluded from the word count. Contents of appendices are not usually considered when determining your final assessment grade.
