Section A: Learning Outcomes of the Assessments 

The assignment addresses the following learning outcome/s of the module: 

• LO1. Appraise their strengths and their learning through reflection regarding the graduate job market;
• LO2. Design their professional profile based on a real-life job advert in their chosen industry in preparation for a job interview 

Section B: Introduction 

This assessment will focus on developing students' ability to understand their personality, through the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), assist individuals in presenting themselves effectively during job interviews and addressing questions like 'tell me about yourself'. Additionally, how does identifying one's personality type relate to uncovering their preferred career anchor? It will be a portfolio of one 2000-word reflection essay about themselves and their preferred career. All written assignments will be submitted online via My Second Teacher. 

This will enable students to develop confidence and expertise about themselves and their career progression, and will contribute to their understanding of how students approach the completion of their university journey. It is essential to reflect on how the student has evolved as an individual since they embarked on their studies and how they are now.

This self-assessment is crucial as it will guide the creation of a professional profile for their academic development across the course as a whole. 

Section C: Assessment Strategy 

You are required to work individually to develop a self-reflection essay and your career anchor. A career anchor is a concept that refers to an individual's core set of values, skills, interests, and motivations that shape their career choices and long-term career.

Section D: 

The essay accounts for 40% of the module grade.

Section E: Marking Criteria: How will you be evaluated? 

The marking will be based on individual performance. Each article will be evaluated on the following criteria: 

1. Career Overview and Purpose: 

• Provide a brief overview of your chosen industry.
• Explain that the purpose of your reflection is to evaluate your suitability for this industry. 

2. Career Details: 

• Offer a detailed description of the industry.
• Discuss prominent trends, challenges, and opportunities backed by relevant data. 

3. Personal Introduction:

• Introduce yourself briefly, including your educational background and experiences.
• Share why you were initially attracted to this industry.
• Mention skills, knowledge, or interests that align with this industry. 

4. Self-Assessment: 

• Reflect on your strengths and weaknesses regarding your career choice.
• Discuss specific skills, attributes, or experiences, including insights from your MBTI personality.
• Identify areas requiring further development or improvement. 

5. Alignment with Industry: 

• Explain how your values, interests, and career goals align with this industry. Provide examples of relevant projects, coursework, or experiences that demonstrate this alignment.
• Discuss any specific roles or positions that pique your interest. 

6. Professional Growth and Preparation:

• Describe your plans for professional growth within the chosen industry. Mention steps taken or planned, such as networking, further education, or certifications. 

7. Addressing Challenges: 

• Identify potential career-related challenges or obstacles you anticipate.
• Offer strategies and solutions that showcase your problem-solving and adaptability skills.
