Background to this Assessment

You are required to identify a topic of your interest within your area of study (e.g., Health Science). This interest might stem from an initial problem that you have identified or simply something that you would like to learn more about. This topic will form the focus of your research for the duration of this course and research proposal. This assessment is based on an ongoing task to build your familiarity of various approaches to research framework and methods to support a greater understanding of research literature within a specific field.

All sources must be referenced using the current APA format, both in-text as well as in the reference list.

Assessment Tasks

In this assessment, you will prepare a critical annotative bibliography for a range of original research articles on a chosen contemporary Health Science theme. All articles should be from peer-reviewed sources, preferably not older than 10 years. The critical annotative bibliography will see you selecting ten (10) research articles to consider the details of the research design & strategy, the methods used and any other ethical considerations. Do not use Systematic and Meta analysis in critical Annotative Bibliography. You can use systematic and Meta analysis in discussion part.

Further, the critical annotation needs to include a discussion section that evaluates and analyses the research. This section will provide insight into a range of aspects, weaving together the key themes highlighted within the bibliography, including:

  • The commonalities across the research findings, including the participant make-up
  • The similarities and differences of the findings;
  • The strengths and weaknesses of the methodological approaches used;
  • Your opinion of the research & the potential gaps in the research and/or findings;
  • Include anything else that supports understanding about the topic selected
