MGMT3062 Requirements and Guidelines

2. The combined word count for both case studies must not exceed 3,000 words, not inclusive of references AI AI-generated content and cover page 3. A penalty will apply for the case study assignment over the word limit 
4. Format of assignment is double-spaced and 12 pt. font Times New Roman. 
5. Your entire Word document, including references and AI-generated contributions, must be placed in Turnitin. Do not exclude any section from Turnitin. You are required to upload 2 documents in the Learning Exchange (LE): 

a. The PDF similarity report from Turnitin 
b. The case study word document. Do not upload the Turnitin receipt 

6. The requisite marks will be deducted for late submission of assignments. Please refer to the policy related to the submission of late assignments in your course guide. 

7. All references should follow APA 6 or 7 citation rules - in-text citations and a reference list 

8. You must provide complete disclosure regarding the use of AI tools. Simply stating that AI was used in your work does not constitute full disclosure. For further details, refer to the document in the LE. This includes the questions used as prompts provided to the AI tool. 

9. The requisite marks will be deducted from your assignment if AI-generated content does not meet the requirements as indicated in the PDF document found on LE

Turn it in

Mini Case 1 

Xie Yang greeted Robert Peters, the next interviewee, warmly. Robert had an excellent academic record and appeared to be just the kind of person Xie's company, Beco Electric, was seeking. Xie is the university recruiter for Beco and has already interviewed six graduating seniors at Centenary College. 

Based on the application form, Robert appeared to be the most promising candidate to be interviewed that day, with a 3.6 grade point average and a 4.0 in his major field, industrial management. Robert was not only the vice president of the Student Government Association, but also activities chairman for Kappa Alpha Psi, a social fraternity. The reference letters in Robert's file revealed that Robert was both active socially and a rather intense and serious student. One of the letters from Robert's employer during the previous summer expressed satisfaction with Robert's work habits. 

Xie knew that discussion of benefits could be an important part of the recruiting interview. But Xie did not know which aspects of Beco's benefits program would appeal most to Robert. The company has an excellent profit-sharing plan, although 80 per cent of profit distributions are deferred and included in each employee's retirement account. Health benefits are also good. It also has long-term care insurance. The company's medical and dental plan pays a significant portion of costs. A company lunchroom provides meals at about 70 per cent of outside prices, although few managers take advantage of this. 

Employees get 1 week of paid vacation after the first year and 2 weeks after 2 years with the company. Two weeks are provided each year for sick leave. In addition, there are 12 paid holidays each year.
