MBA 7000 Assignment Brief

The migration of professionals from Sri Lanka has become a pressing concern for businesses and the national economy. Driven by economic instability, political uncertainties, and better career prospects abroad, many skilled workers, including doctors, engineers, IT professionals, and academics, are leaving the country in search of improved financial security and career growth. This brain drain poses significant challenges to local organisations, resulting in skill shortages, operational inefficiencies, and a weakened talent pipeline.

Task

Based on the above scenario, critically examine the impact it has on teams in an organisation, and based on identified challenges in rebuilding teams, provide recommendations for rebuilding and managing successful teams. Please incorporate theoretical frameworks, concepts and principles in building your analysis.

  • You need to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of different conceptual frameworks; knowledge and understanding of appropriate academic ideas; and support your analysis with relevant literature., 50 marks
  • Interrelationship of academic ideas and practice: You need to demonstrate your analytical skills: knowledge and understanding of the interrelationship of academic ideas and practice (e.g. relating academic ideas to case study and your experience/s); skills of analysis (e.g. highlighting and exposing key issues), 20 marks
  • You need to demonstrate skills of critical evaluation of relevant and contemporary HR challenges within the case study demonstrating awareness of the significance of relevant HRM concepts, 20 marks
  • Professional, scholarly communication: coherence and rigor You will need to demonstrate skills of handling of academic material, in a way that is well- argued and with a clear line of thought; coherence in how you address the assignment task; and, this must be underpinned by academic referencing (Harvard style) and appropriate scholarly conduct., 10 marks

You must integrate contemporary theories and real-world practices in team management and HRM throughout your response.

Support your arguments with evidence-based research and apply critical thinking in your evaluations and recommendations.

You must use the Harvard Referencing system throughout your work. Correct in-text referencing is required, and a full and correct reference list needs to be provided. Please note that for academic acceptance, it is important to refer to adequate sources in building critical arguments concerning this assignment. Generally, the lecturer expects a minimum of 15 latest sources from accepted recommended journals, required reading and recommended readings.
