Assessment Three – Leadership Essay in the UK academic style - UEL

Requirements:

Your submission needs to contain the following:
•    (page 1) UEL ‘Front Sheet’ (provided) 
•    (page 2) Title Page – Title of Essay (your choice), Your student ID number (but no names – anonymous please)
•    (page 3 onwards) The essay – use the following structure and add headings (In bold, on a separate line):

o    Introduction
o    A main section split into 2 - 4 subsections – each sub-section should be given a relevant heading
o    Conclusion

•    Reference list – Harvard Style (on a new page with Reference List as the heading)
•    Appendix 1: My additional sources document (min 1, max 3) – template provided 
The word count (1,200 words, + or – 10%) includes ‘everything’ (including headings and citations) from page 3 onwards until the end of the conclusion – nothing else (i.e. reference list and appendix NOT included in word count)

Task (1,200 words):

•    Is Elon Musk a “good” leader and how would you describe his leadership style?

Note 1: What “good” means in this question is entirely up to you – you are free to choose – however, you need to support your argument with cited evidence. Essays that have insufficient cited evidence to support the argument being made could get much lower marks.

Note 2: For leadership styles you should use the sources on leadership styles, cite information about styles that you think are relevant to Elon Musk and then match them to citations about Musk’s actions / behaviours that appear to fit with a particular style. Partial matches are fine – Musk may demonstrate partial alignment with several styles – it is unlikely that he would be an exact match for any single style – please keep that in mind when you write.
