Guidance for this assessment

This assessment requires you to prepare an individual presentation that will be delivered in Week 12 of your programme. Your mark for this assessment forms 50% of your overall module score.

You are required to undertake a review of the literature on a contemporary business and management issue of your choice. You will present your review within an individual PowerPoint presentation which lasts between 10-15 minutes. At the end of your presentation, you will be required to answer questions from the audience.

Marks for this assessment will be allocated as follows:

• Critical review of the literature 70%
• Quality of presentation slides and delivery 20%
• Response to questions from the audience 10%

Prior to delivering your presentation you must submit a copy of your PowerPoint slides with completed notes pages to your tutor. The notes pages should detail the key points that you will be covering within your verbal presentation. 

For quality assurance purposes all presentations will be digitally recorded.

Assessment Guidance Session

Detailed assessment guidance will be given in Week 1 and 6 Seminar.  The Seminar will provide advice on

1. How the assessment tasks need to be completed
2. how the assessment will be graded against the rubric

You are reminded that recorded assessment guidance will be provided on the eLP Blackboard site for this module after Week 6 sessions.

Use of Generative AI within this Assessment

In alignment with Northumbria University’s Academic Regulations for Taught Awards (ARTA), section 1.2, you are reminded that “In all assessed work students should take care to ensure that the work presented is their own and that it fully acknowledges the work and opinions of others”.
Unless the assessment specific guidance above requests that you use generative AI in crafting your assessment, AI should not be used to do the core work for you.  You should assume that generative AI may be used as follows:

• AI can help with things like improving grammar, helping with structure format, organising ideas, and generating suggestions. 
• The main content, analysis, and conclusions in your work must always be your own work

When you submit your assessment, you will be requested to add and sign a declaration of your use of AI in the creation of your work.  A copy of this declaration document is attached to the end of this document.  You should place this signed copy at the front of your submission.  Failure to accurately record your use of such tools may be considered as academic misconduct.
