AT1 case study 2 (100 marks available) - Violet 

Question 1A: Review and reflect on the feedback from AT1-CS1. What aspect of the feedback have you taken on board and how have you dealt with that to improve this report (50 words, 2 marks)?

Question 1B: Case study summary (7 marks). Please provide a summary (~100 words) of the case study to provide some context for the questions that follow. Include key information such as lifestyle habits, client's age, current activity levels and living arrangements.

Question 1C: What are some of the key growth and developmental events that have occurred/will occur for Violet from early childhood to adolescence? Complete the table provided below to answer this question. (12 marks). Hint: You will need to have consulted the Cloud content to source this information.

Question 1D: Using the information provided to you in the case study (in ~150 words), describe Violet's current developmental/maturation stage. You should include information such as: age at take-off, age at peak height velocity, a prediction of her adult height and a discussion of her current state of maturation. (10 marks). Question 2: What are the physical activity, sedentary behaviour and sleep recommendations for Violet and her siblings? Complete the table below to answer this question (20 marks). Hint: Remember to read the public health guidelines on the Australian Department of Health website

Question 3A: In ~100 words, describe how Violet's participation in high-level gymnastics will likely influence her bone development. Hint: see the online content around bone development and the peer-reviewed paper Green et al, 2012. Remember to cite peer-reviewed literature to support your statements here. (4 marks).

Question 3B: In ~150 words, highlight the critical role that exercise loading during childhood and adolescence plays in osteoporosis risk in later life. Hint: see the online content around bone development and the peer-reviewed paper Santos et al, 2017. Remember to cite peer-reviewed literature to support your statements here. (10 marks).

Question 4: With her current regimen, is Violet meeting the physical activity guidelines for someone of her age? Explain to Violet's mum Violet's risk of burnout and injury. In your explanation, weigh up the balance of the benefits against the potential risks of high-level gymnastics participation and make some recommendations to avoid injury and burnout.
