Please check/email me to confirm if your choices are acceptable and that you are able to access suitable data.
Introduction - This must include definitions of Public Health, (include 1 – 2 as these vary slightly and by offering the reader insight into more than one of these, you illustrate the breadth of public health. Acknowledge the role of Public Health England, when it was established and when it ceased to function. Also, explain the replacement/s for Public Health England and the roles of each of the new replacement organisations going forward. Continue by explaining/defining health inequalities using appropriate definitions discussed in class. (all the above must be referenced both within the essay and at the end in a reference list – use Harvard Referencing.
An introduction to the specific topic you have chosen (one area) with some referenced background information on this including evidence of the inequality - As discussed in class this evidence must be from Fingertips or the Office for National Statistics (ONS). Other reliable/reputable sources where necessary can be used with approval from the Module Leader.
You must also include how Public Health are addressing the health inequality you have chosen or are attempting to address this with referenced evidence.
You will end with a conclusion which may have a recommendation or two. The conclusion should not have any new or additional information but a brief recap of important points.
References and data must be as current as possible.
No headings in the essay – use headings while writing if this helps you and remove once essay is complete.
This is an academic essay so please do not use ‘I’. Ensure the essay has a title – use the essay statement as the title and a subtitle of your chosen health inequality.
